资源简介:
This dataset have information about the three sampling events associated with the project "Metagenomic analysis of antibiotic resistance microbial communities living in contaminated river water". Three sets of water samples were collected from Bogotá River, below Puente de Guadua (4°43’39.5N, 74°07’34.4’’W) in Bogotá, Colombia during the month of August, 2014. Water samples were centrifuged to obtain approximately 250 mg pellet. During the last day of sampling, enough pellet mass was obtained to conduct three separate DNA extractions (approximately 750 mg). Initial attempts were made to obtain biomass by filtration following typical river water protocols. However, the suspended solid concentration in the water samples form the Bogotá River was too high and filtration was unsuccessful. Therefore, centrifugation was used to obtain biomass. DNA was extracted from pellets using different methods and all the samples were combined to produce 250 μL (with a concentration of 86.9 ng/µL) and stored at -20°C until sent for sequencing. DNA was sequenced using the Illumina HiSeq2500 platform (Illumina, San Diego, CA) with a 2×100 PE configuration at Genewiz, NJ. Currently this event dataset does not have associeted occurrences, but in the future it will be enriched with the information of the microbial communities found through DNA sequencing process, including the DNA sequence details.
