Dîwân-i-Niżâm This manuscript is now IO Islamic 1534 in the India Office collections. [metadata: Hermann Ethé, Catalogue of Persian Manuscripts in the Library of the India Office, 2 vols. The lyrical poems of Mirzâ Niżâm Dast-i-Ghaib, of Shîrâz, one of Shâh ‘Abbâs’ poets, who died, only thirty years old, A.H. 1039 (A.D. 1629, 1630); see Safînah, No. 606 (col. 231 in the Bodleian Cat.); Muntakhab-alash’âr, No. 671 (ib., col. 253); Âtashkada, No. 683 (ib., col. 285); A. Sprenger, Catal., pp. 92 and 518; Rieu iii. p. 1091b. An earlier date of his death, viz. A.H. 1029 (A.D. 1620), is given in the Khulâṣat-alafkâr, No. 281 (col. 312 in the Bodleian Cat.); see also W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 58, No. 6. On fol. 129a this dîwân is wrongly ascribed to Niżâm-almulk, the famous wazîr of Alp Arslan Malikshâh. Contents: Ḳaṣîdas, on fol. 129b, beginning: زديده بيرخ او دل نمى شود روشن چو أفتاب نباشد چه سود از روزن A ḳaṣîdah in praise of the prophet (در نعت پیغمبر ), which is not found in this collection, is noticed twice in W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 31, No. 8, and p. 32, No. 19. Ghazals, on fol. 138a, beginning (as in Sprenger's copy): كو تا سر كنم فغانرا ويران كنم بآهى بنياد آسمانرا(Sprenger محبّتى) ذوق مصيبتى Rubâ’iyyât, on fol. 164b, beginning: آن رفت كه دل وصل نگاری ميخواست در بزم پری رخان قرارى ميخواست A sâḳînâma (ساقى نامه ), on fol. 170a, beginning: دلا چند بينى شكست از خمار شكستى گرت هست در تو به آر The same sâḳînâma is noticed in Bodleian Cat., col. 741, No. 7, 2, and in the Berlin Cat., p. 58, No. 6. Tarjî’bands, on fol. 175b, beginning: ساقى بده آن باده كه رنگ لب يارست آن مى كه رخ ساقى ازو رشك بهارست This part is defective at the end; there is also a lacuna after fol. 183; besides the last leaf is written by a different hand is Shikasta. No. 267, ff. 129-184, 2 coll., each ll. 15; Nasta’lîḳ; size, 83/8 in. by 4¾ in.
