Prototheca wickerhamii Genome sequencing and assembly. Prototheca wickerhamii

The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical isolates of the genus Prototheca. In this study, a high-quality de novo assembly genome was obtained by combining Nanopore ONT and Illumina NovaSeq sequencing technologies. By comparison, we found some genetic differences between this clinical isolate and other Prototheca wickerhamii strains, which deepened our understanding of the characteristics of this strain. At the same time, the identification of genes that may be associated with the pathogenicity and virulence of the organism was also explored.
