资源简介:
Time-series sinking particle fluxes for 19 years from 1990 to 2010 were obtained using PARLUX-type sediment traps moored at 600 m above the sea floor at Station SA (water depth: 5,406 m) in the central subarctic Pacific and at Station AB (water depth: 3,788 m) in the Aleutian Basin of the Bering Sea. This dataset shows the sinking fluxes of total mass, and relative contents of particulate carbon, nitrogen, and biogenic opal. The collected particles were sieved through 1mm mesh, and the smaller size fraction less than 1mm were treated as sinking particles. Particulate carbon and nitrogen contents were analyzed using a CHN analyzer (the model: Perkin-Elemer 2400). Calcium carbonate content was analyzed with a coulometer (UIC 5012). The organic matter content was estimated with the organic carbon content and the Redfield ratio of 2.857. Biogenic opal content was analyzed based on the alkali-leaching and the molybdate yellow methods. The detail of these methods and the results for the earlier monitoring duration were published by Takahashi et al. (2000, 2002). The sample archive collection and the graph figures showing the particle fluxes with bulk components for the whole period were shown in Takahashi et al. (2012). The dataset of bulk components and their calculation for each sample was re-checked in 2021, and the updated dataset is shown here.
