Bioenzymatic Evolution and Sustainability: Development of a Web-Based Enzyme Simulation Platform in Colombia

The scientific article titled “Bioenzymatic Evolution and Sustainability: Development of a Web-Based Enzyme Simulation Platform in Colombia” presents an interdisciplinary research project developed by Diego Fernando Coba Carreño, from Colegio Agustiniano Suba, under the guidance of Research Advisor John Pérez and the Research Line in Technology and Innovation 2025.This article explores the intersection between enzymatic evolution, biotechnology, and sustainability, focusing on the creation of an innovative web-based platform capable of simulating enzymatic reactions and environmental parameters. The project integrates biology, chemistry, and programming within a single educational framework, promoting scientific literacy, critical thinking, and awareness of sustainable technologies among students in Colombia.Over the course of two years, the research involved continuous experimentation, digital design, and dissemination of scientific knowledge through workshops and surveys with students and educators. The software developed serves as both an educational tool and a model for linking biological sciences with technological innovation, emphasizing the role of enzymes as key agents in green chemistry and ecological transformation.The article is organized into several sections, including theoretical framework, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions, and presents a novel pedagogical approach to sustainability through digital science. By combining bioinformatics, enzymology, and STEAM education, this project demonstrates how technology can support scientific understanding and contribute to a more sustainable future.This work ultimately reflects a new vision of bioenzymatic evolution, one that connects scientific knowledge, environmental responsibility, and the power of innovation in the context of Colombian education.
