The Historical Snow Cover Dataset of China (2008–2016) was developed by the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is compiled from historical field snow cover survey data contributed by snow research teams from multiple relevant institutions, including the National Satellite Meteorological Center, China Meteorological Administration, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Meteorological Bureau, Qinghai Provincial Meteorological Bureau, Heilongjiang Provincial Meteorological Bureau, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Meteorological Bureau, Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing University, Beijing Normal University, and others.
