Plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) aggressively colonize plant roots of many plant species and augment plant growth and immunity to pathogen attacks. Some PGPR strains produce auxin, cytokinin and antioxidants, while others induce phosphorus solubilization. Previously we have isolated Pseudomonas putida SAESo11 from the volcanic island of Santorini in Greece, and we have found that this strain produce auxin and siderophores, solubilizes P, and possess antifungal properties.
