NC2 has a role in determining the transcription start site in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

In this study we show that disruption of NC2 function by shutting off either of its two protein subunits in yeast provokes an immediate increase in cryptic transcription around and inside any kind of RNA pol II genes.本研究表明，在酵母中通过抑制NC2的任一蛋白质亚基的表达以破坏其功能，可立即引发任意类型RNA聚合酶II（RNA pol II）基因的周边区域及基因内部的隐蔽转录水平显著上调。
