Data files based on aerial data collected during the MOSAiC expedition in the central Arctic Ocean 2020. The dataset contains:
Photo_DEM: previously unpublished manually controlled photogrammetrically reconstructed digital elevation models of the MOSAiC summer ice floe. All DEMs are reprojected, translated, and rotated to the floe position on 30 June on the WGS 84 / NSIDC Sea Ice Polar Stereographic North coordinate system (EPSG:3413) as project reference raster.
Floe_contour: manually traced floe contour lines
cumulative_pond_coverage: a composite map of melt ponds compiled from classified orthomosaics (30 June to 22 July) and a WorldView-2 Image from 28 May (DigitalGlobe NextView license (2020), contained in Webster et al. 2022 in Elem Sci Anthrop, CC-BY 4.0 license). Classification is derived with the PASTA-ice algorithm (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7548468).
PhotoALS_DEM and ALS_DEM: Digital elevation models derived from airborne laser scanning and photogrammetrically reconstructed from aerial images rectified with ALS data. Original rasters are published on PANGAEA database (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.950896, https://doi.pangaea.de/10.1594/PANGAEA.949433) and were here reprojected, translated, and rotated to the floe position on 30 June on the WGS 84 / NSIDC Sea Ice Polar Stereographic North coordinate system (EPSG:3413).
