Regulatory regions of disease resistance-related genes of Scots pine. Investigation of regulatory regions of disease resistance-related genes of Scots pine

The essence of this project is investigation of regulatory regions of disease resistance-related genes of Scots pine by using low coverage long read whole genome sequencing. As a reference genome or high quality draft genome assemblies are not available for Scots pine, studies of regions in between genes are complicated. Yet, these regions harbor sequences influencing gene expression (silencers, enhancers etc.). We aim to clarify long DNA regions flanking disease resistance-linked genes on 5' side. This would enhance our understanding about plant resistance against diseases.
