Earth and Space Science (ESS) is an academic journal published by the American Geophysical Union (AGU). This study examines the year-by-year (2021–2025) proportion of “Data Availability Statements,” as well as the proportions of data citations and software citations in ESS, to reveal how the journal’s data-sharing policy has evolved.
