In this study, we leverage unique transcriptomic signatures identified via scRNA-seq to guide gene delivery to specific cell populations in mouse lungs. We show that targeted depletion of transitional AT2 cells, utilizing diphtheria toxin receptor (DTR)-mediated cell ablation guided by Sprr1a mRNA, ameliorated pulmonary fibrosis in mice.
