Lone Pine - Coastal Conservation and Erosion Control

This project will undertake erosion control works to stabilise active erosion gullies and slumping occurring along the coastal cliff tops of the property. A series of existing surface water control structures will be upgraded to intercept surface water run-off and groundwater recharge from the nearby catchment to re-direct water away from cliffs into natural flow paths. This will include re-siting detention basins, re-inforcing diversion banks and re-aligning drains to prevent further undermining of the coastline and discharge of sediment into Thorny Passage Marine Bay. Works complement a larger project on the adjacent coastal reserve planned by Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula and the regional council to manage erosion and public access.
