Long-term resilience of microbial communities in forest soils

This study used a long-term trial site to explore the direct and interactive effects of site, management, and other factors on the phylogenetic diversity (bacterial and fungal community composition) within the soil ecosystem. We used high throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA and ITS rRNA on soil samples collected from a Long-Term Soil Productivity Study site (>25 years old) planted with Pinus radiata in New Zealand.
