Sustainable timber retrofit of concrete buildings (ERIES-STRONG project) - Dataset
收藏资源简介:
ERIES-STRONG project, part of the ERIES programme, addresses the rising interest in developing integrated timber-based solutions to improve the seismic and energy performance of existing structures. The focus of this study is on medium-rise reinforced concrete (RC) buildings with double-wythe masonry infill, comprising an outer "strong" wythe made of solid bricks and an inner "weak" wythe made of hollow blocks. This structural typology, prevalent in the built heritage of many countries, often demonstrates significant inefficiencies in seismic and energy performance. To address this vulnerability, the project validated timber-based strategies through testing until failure, specifically utilizing a retrofit approach known as RC-TP. The method involves partially replacing masonry infills with cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels connected to the structural elements via dowel- type metal fasteners. The study evaluates the seismic response of a two-story, two-bay frame in as-built configuration and been retrofitted with the RC-TP system under cyclic loading to ultimate conditions. Metada, measured data and photo/video documentation from the tests performed are presented in this dataset.
