Affymetrix Chip data of the transcriptome of human clinical study for acupuncture mechanisms on rheumatoid arthritis. Homo sapiens

We report the application of Affymetrix technology for high-throughput mRNA profiling of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, with acupuncture+Methotrexate and Methotrexate treatments. Clinical Trial ID: https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT01619176 Overall design: 9 patients were enrolled according to ACR and delivered with 2 therapies, i.e. Acupuncture+Methotrexate (AP, 6 patients) and Methotrexate (MTX, 3 patients). Peripheral blood sampling was carried out before therapy, after 2 weeks in AP group and after 3 months for both therapies. Finally, 18 total RNA samples (two samples for each patient) were extracted from blood samples (peripheral blood mononuclear cells, PBMC ) and analyzed using Affymetrix microarray technology (Affymetrix U133 Plus 2.0 array).
