Collichthys lucidus isolate:MT201911 Genome sequencing and assembly

The spinyhead croaker (Collichthys lucidus) is a small, commercially important marine fish species (Family: Sciaenidae) occurring along the coastal waters of northwestern Pacific. In this study, we employed next generation high-throughput DNA sequencing to characterize the whole genome sequence of C. lucidus via de novo assembly. The estimate of C. lucidus genome size is 643 Mb. A phylogeny based on single-copy ortholog sequences indicates that Collichthys is closely related to Larimichthys, Our results could guide sustainable fishery management of C. lucidus.
