Data on the Facilitation of Seed dispersal of Alien Plants During and After Road Construction

This dataset was extracted from 444 Environmental Impact Assessment reports published in December 2017, detailing the flora at different road sites in South Korea, before and after construction operations. It includes the locations (XY coordinates) of 41 road construction sites along with an inventory of alien plant species, detailing traits such as life cycle stage, dispersal mechanisms, and the number of sites where alien plant species occurred. From September to October 2019, a focused study was conducted on the dispersal of Ambrosia trifida seeds, at six patches along three completed roadwork sites. The seed dispersal experiment involved counting the number of seeds in an area using the quadrat method (0.25 x 0.25 m2); these results were converted to a 1 × 1 m2 area. The data can be used to highlight the need for management strategies to prevent the spread of alien plants during and after road construction.
