Isotopic dataset (δ¹³C, δ¹⁵N, δ¹⁸O) from human bone and tooth samples at four Greek archaeological sites (400–700 CE)

This dataset complements the Greek dataset initiated by Salesse (2018; DOI: 10.48530/isoarch.2018.001). It compiles isotopic data from four archaeological sites in Greece: Nemea, Eleutherna, Messene, and Sourtara, dated between 400 and 700 CE. Based on four bibliographic sources, it includes 135 human individuals represented by 185 bone and tooth samples. Measurements comprise δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N from organic matter and δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O from mineral fractions. The resulting data offer fresh insights into dietary habits and mobility during the transition from the Late Roman to Early Byzantine periods.
