Monthly mean sunspot number since 1749 (monthly update): sunspots reflect sun activity, which has a 11 year cycle.We can observe Dalton Minimum: a period of low solar activity, named after the English meteorologist John Dalton, lasting from 1790 to 1830, which coincided with a period of lower-than-average global temperatures.Nombre moyen mensuel des taches solaires depuis 1749 (mis à jour mensuellement): les taches solaires reflètent l'activité solaire, qui suit un cycle de 11 ans.On peut observer le Minimum de Dalton: une période de faible activité solaire, nommée d'après le météorologiste anglais John Dalton, qui s'est étalée des années 1790 à 1830, et qui coïncide avec une période froide.
