A SOCIALANALYSIS OF SLUMS IN THE PANDHARPUR

The study of slum area in the city is essential. Present paper focus on special attention is given to the slums in the study region. Pandharpur town has been selected as study region for the present paper. For this purpose data has been collected from municipal office Pandharpur, also collected through household scheduled with scientific sampling. Most of the slums in Pandharpur town are situated on the lands belonging to municipal council. In Pandharpur there are 23 slum area. Slums are characterized with high population density. Complicated house pattern observed in different slum of Pandharpur. Due to uncleanness and low income the health states of the slum dwellers is also not satisfactory and they faces different types of health problems.
