In recent years, ecotone has been considered an important issue in ecological studies since it is a transitional area of vegetation between two distinct ecosystems. In Brazil, one of the main important ecotones is the intersection between the biomes Caatinga and Cerrado, which comprises 1.7% of Brazilian territory and are concentrated in the northeast region. This project compared the bacterial community of the ecotone between cerrado and caatinga through 16S rRNA sequencing.
