Four types of soil samples were collected from a salt well in Zigong City and its surrounding areas, including grassland soil, farmland soil, silt soil and sandy soil. Soil physical and chemical properties showed that sandy soil was severely saline soil, farmland soil and silt soil were moderately saline soils, and grassland soil was non-salinized soil. The dominant bacterial communities included Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Chloroflexi and Firmicutes. Salt-tolerant bacteria were screened from saline soil in Zigong using traditional culture techniques and 16S rDNA sequencing technology.
