Sequence of bacterial community from urban rivers

It was hypothesized that (i) the contamination of PAHs and PAEs may occur differently in various black-odor rivers, making difference in the enrichment of microbial community and functional genes involving PAH and PAE degradation to a certain extent, and that (ii) PAH and PAE contamination may link to the shift of sediment microbial community and functional genes involving in element (nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur) cycle functions which results in water quality deterioration. To test these hypotheses, the bacterial community structure in sediment from urban rivers were analyzed.
