This dataset contains 311 polysyllabic onomatopoeic lexemes from Ancient Chinese with 416 distinct meaning tokens, classified by historical period (Old Chinese, Middle Chinese, Early Modern Chinese), word-formation type, semantic category, and motivational level. Cross-validation records include CCL Corpus token frequencies and CHIDEOD database attestation status for each lexeme (combined coverage: 296/311 = 95.2%). Quantitative metrics (ANM, Shannon entropy, Gini coefficient) with bootstrapped 95% confidence intervals are also provided.
