Decision Support Guidelines for Circular Building Implementation Across the Value Chain

This thesis develops guidelines to support the implementation of Circular Building (CB) across the Building Value Chain (BVC). Some of the most problematic gaps in this field include confusion on conceptual and practical issues. By examining the academic literature, grey literature, and case studies, it develops a comprehensive conceptual framework, taxonomy, essential classifications, and guidelines for implementation. Its findings contradict some of the current theoretical and practical notions on CB and propose new decision-making models tailored to BVC stakeholders to change the outdated rules of thumb currently in use.
