We propose an XMM program to complement a 100 pc resolution HST UV program that recently observed 75 of the brightest hard X-ray selected comma nearby type 1 BAT AGN openParz<0.1closePar comma to accurately calibrate the AGN bolometric emission comma precisely measure the Eddington ratio distribution of AGN comma and understand the intrinsic UV-X-ray scatter to estimate cosmological parameters. We propose to observe 16 AGN observed with HST in the past few months with extended nuclear star formation comma that have never been observed with XMM. XMM is uniquely sensitive at <1 keV openPar30-50XclosePar which is critical for accretion disk models. The HST UV capability is diminishing substantially so it is critical to leverage this once in possibly decade opportunity for high spatial resolution UV imaging.
