资源简介:
Greiner Lake and its watershed, and therefore the properties of their waters, have a great importance to the local economy of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, by the commercial arctic char fishery that exists here. As part of a preliminary investigation, the freshwater of streams running between lakes and ponds of the watershed, and from Greiner Lake to the ocean, have been sampled by performing measurements of pH, temperature, conductivity, TDS, as well as by collecting water samples in vials that were transported to the laboratory of Dr. Melissa Lafrenière at Queen's University, Kingston, for isotope analysis. Three vials per sample were filled with water, and the vials were kept refrigerated after sampling. The pH, temperature, conductivity and TDS measurements were performed at the site of sampling with an accumet AP85 portable pH/conductivity meter. The bedrock in the region of the watershed is Cambrian limestone, which accounts for the very high pH values of the sampled water. The data are available in .csv and .xls formats.
