ANALYSES - ANNUAL SUMMARIES and Other Data from SATELLITE From World-Wide Distribution from 19910101 to 19921231 (NODC Accession 9300054)

Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) blended Sea Surface Temperatures (SST) data for 1991-1992 was provided by Mr. Richard W. Reynolds from the National Weather Service, Camp Springs, MD. SST were collected from ships and buoys (in situ) and from satellites (POLAR AVHRR). Blended SST's eliminate biases or large scale trends in the satellite data by using in situ data as anchor points.

Global blended SST data collected from 1991-1992 and submitted by Diane Marisco of the Climate Analysis Center (NOAA/National Weather Service). Data were collected by multiple ships and/or buoys and by polar AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radar) satellites. Data were utilized as part of a monthly real time global SST analysis conducted at the US National Meteorological Center (NMC).
