Improvement to Threatened Species Habitat in the Whyalla Region Project 1

This project will contribute to the rehabilitation across two main sites, Mount Laura Conservation Park and Point Lowly Point. To add project diversity works will also occur at Hummock Hill and Whyalla Wetlands. Given the significant habitat for the Hooded Plover and Thick Billed Wren across the area of works, biodiversity values are rated as high. Threatening processes managed by this project include loss of under-story, pest animals, weed invasion and human disturbance. The Team will undertake a wide range of tasks, which will be supported to enhance knowledge and skills. Key strategies to protect values at these sites include strategic improvements to habitat values through weed control and replacement planting.
