Genomic characterization of psittacine adenovirus 2, a siadenovirus determined from a moribund African grey parrot (Psittacus erithacus)

Herein, we report the complete genome of psittacine adenovirus 2 sequenced from a moribund African grey parrot (Psittacus erithacus) with neurological symptoms and systemic inflammation. The complete siadenoviral genome is 25,386 bp. Genetic and phylogenetic analyses supported it as a novel species within the genus Siadenovirus. This study represents the first adenovirus genome determined from an African grey parrot.
