Revising the tectonic chronology of East–West Antarctica since the breakup of East Gondwana [Dataset]

This dataset contains multibeam bathymetric data and two marine magnetic profiles (Line-N and Line-S) collected across the Central Basin between the Hallett Ridge and Iselin Bank in the northwestern Ross Sea. The data were acquired during the 2019 R/VIB Araon cruise. The magnetic profiles provide evidence for oceanic crust formation between Chrons 24–20 (~53–43 Ma), extending the documented history of East–West Antarctic motion approximately 10 million years earlier than previously established.
