THE ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF NAVOI REGION IN THE REFORMS IMPLEMENTED TO PROVIDE SOCIAL PROTECTION FOR THE POPULATION OF UZBEKISTAN

Abstract. This article examines the role and significance of Navoi Region in the reforms implemented in the field of social protection for the population of Uzbekistan. It analyzes the main directions of state social policy during the transition to market relations, as well as measures aimed at providing targeted support to low-income families, persons with disabilities, single elderly citizens, and other vulnerable groups. Based on archival, statistical, and documentary sources, the article examines practical measures implemented in Navoi Region during the 1990s and 2000s and highlights their significance for improving the social protection system.
