Annual trips by RER and trains in Paris and Île-de-France 2007-2022

Between 2007 and 2017, the number of annual trips made by RER and trains in Paris and Île-de-France progressively increased. In 2017, a little less than 1.5 billion trips were made in RER and trains in Paris and Île-de-France, compared with approximatively 1.1 billion ten years before. There was a slight decrease in 2018 and 2019, before trips dropped off precipitously with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In 2022, trips stood at nearly 1.2 billion.
