These data include Standardized mean differences (SMD, i.e. Hedges g) for different measures of single visit effectiveness (SVE) between Apis mellifera and the most effective pollinator (MEP) for each unique plant, site, and year combination within a given study. The SMD value is > 0 when other pollinators are more effective than honeybees and < 0 if the opposite occurs. We calculated each effect size in R (R Core Development Team, 2020) using the escalc function in the ‘metafor’ package (v. 2.1‐0, Viechtbauer, 2010). We also include data of different 'moderators' (i.e. factors) that we tested. These include the pollinator group, whether the plant was a crop species, and whether the observations occurred in the native range of Apis mellifera.
