Spatial variation of the gut microbiome of the lesser black-backed gull

We aimed to fully describe the resistome, mobilome and the gut microbiota of a wildlife reservoir, the seagull Larus fuscus, and to study the soil and water reservoirs on the habitats that these gulls used most frequently. In particular, we looked to answer whether the microbiome and the antibiotic resistance (AR) of the Lesser Black-backed gull changed at different spatial scales and if gulls were more likely to carry AR on their microbiomes if their diets were mostly from landfill resources
