NRS-2290 | Register of prisoners received [Katingal Special Security Unit]

These volumes record details of all prisoners entering the institution including those transferred from another institution. Each entry provides the following information: from which gaol transferred; name of prisoner; date of birth; marital status, religious denomination, and whether Aboriginal; court passing sentence and date sentenced; offence and length of sentence; date sentence commenced; and non-parole period. These are triplicate copies of bookfast entries recording prisoners received at the Unit. The original was sent to the Research Branch (Department of Corrective Services) and the duplicate to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Each entry records the following: admission number, status (sentenced or not sentenced); name; date and place of birth; marital status; religion; court; date; offence sentence; date sentence commenced; and non parole period.
