RarePlanes

The dataset named RarePlanes comprises real satellite images captured by the WorldView-3 satellite and synthetic images. In this study, we only utilized the real image subset of this dataset, which contains over 14,000 annotated aircraft categorized into multiple classes. We adopted 512×512 resolution image chips to construct the training and test sets, which hold 5,567 and 2,550 samples respectively. The total number of annotated aircraft in this dataset exceeds 14,000, and its associated task is object detection.
