Superstitionia donensis venom gland Transcriptome

Most of the venom gland transcriptome analyses conducted so far have been focused on species of the family Buthidae; mainly because it includes all the most toxic species to humans. However, recent studies on different species from different scorpion families offered interesting aspects on scorpion venom evolution. Therefore, given its uniqueness, phylogenetic position and habitat preference, the scorpion species S. donensis is a perfect candidate to study its venom.
