Aedes albopictus is the most invasive mosquito species in the world, and the transmission vector for many important viral pathogens such as Dengue viruses, Zika virus, and Chikungunya virus. In this study, we employed small RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analysis to characterize the viromes of 9 pools of Ae. albopictus (male and female adults and the larval stage) from various locations in Guangzhou province, China.
