ERA5 and IMERGv7 PyFLEXTRKR MCS Tracking Data and Scripts (2007-2020)

This is the global mesoscale convective system (MCS) tracking dataset developed by and used in Heflin et al. (2026). It contains the MCS track data (location, time, lifecycle evolution of MCS cloud and precipitation characteristics) and monthly mean data for 2007 - 2020 on a 25 km grid, for all longitudes and 60S to 60N. All data files are in NetCDF format. Notebooks used to generate manuscript figures and relevant scripts are also included. Due to the large file size of the native 1-hourly resolution pixel-level data on the 0.25 degree x 0.25 degree grid, they are not included in this dataset.
