Specifically， the present invention pertains to: a polyester resin that is used in a binder for binding fibers together by a dry paper-making method， and is characterized by being obtained by reacting a polyhydric alcohol having a secondary hydroxy group with a polybasic acid; and a production method that is for a polyester resin used in a binder for binding fibers together by a dry paper-making method， and that is characterized by reacting a polyhydric alcohol， having a secondary hydroxy group， with a polybasic acid.
