Teachers' Views on Evaluating Quality in Education, 2008

This dataset was produced as part of the study 'Governing by Numbers: Data and Education Governance in England and Scotland', which explored the use of Quality Assurance and Evaluation (QAE) processes as a form of governance of education. In turn, this was part of a wider international project entitled 'Fabricating Quality in European Education' (FAB-Q), conducted under the auspices of the European Science Foundation EuroCores Programme. The FAB-Q study examined the way that audit, inspection, evaluation and regulation, and the growing need for data, are used to steer education at national and European level. One element comprised a survey of teachers in each national system, concerning their views of 'quality' in education, and the impact of QAE processes on teachers' work and professionalism.
