资源简介:
Sturnidae are a songbird family, with over 100 species spanning a wide range of habitats across much of the globe. Included in this number is Acridotheres trisits, the common or Indian myna. The common myna is characterised by a black head and brown body, with a lighter coloured underwing and distinctive yellow beak and yellow patch behind the eyes. The common myna is native within Asia, and has been either deliberately or accidently introduced to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia, South Africa, Canada, the United States of America, as well as numerous islands (e.g. Cayman Islands, Seychelles). Because of the mynas global success, they have the potential to serve as an important model system in which to investigate genomic mechanisms underlying rapid adaptation within their native range. Here we present the genome assembly of an Australian individual.
