资源简介:
This dataset is a time sequence of raw images, recorded at 600 frames per second by a side-view video camera, of dust particles as they fell in the afterglow of a radio-frequency (RF) capacitively coupled plasma (CCP). The image data is the source for the Physics of Plasma paper, N. Chaubey, J. Goree, S. J. Lanham, and M. J. Kushner, “Positive charging of grains in an afterglow plasma is enhanced by ions drifting in an electric field,” Physics of Plasmas Volume 28, article number 103702 (2021), An afterglow is the condition that begins when the RF power is turned off, so that electrons and ions gradually depart the plasma chamber. During the afterglow, a dust particle's charge changes, where this change in charge was quantified by analyzing these images to obtain the acceleration of dust particles in the afterglow. The images in this dataset are the source for the analyzed data presented in that paper. They are also intended to be included in a collection of dusty plasma data from various scientists, for an in-progress project called "DustNET," led by Dr. Jeph Wang of Los Alamos National Laboratory.
