The METZYME expedition (KM1128) occurred between October 1st and 25th 2011 onboard the R/V Kilo Moana. Biomass collection along the meridional transect for metaproteomic, metatranscriptomic and 18S metabarcoding analyses were performed using battery-operated underwater pumps outfitted with filter head units. High resolution 'omic sampling resulted in three mid-depth profiles (600-800m) at St. 1, 3 and 5, and four upper-water column profiles (200-400m) at St. 6, 8, 9 and 12.
