Whole genome sequencing of bacterial isolates cultured from Enterobacterales bloodstream infections in Tanzania (MBIRA Study)

The MBIRA study aimed to measure the effects associated with resistance to third-generation cephalosporins in hospitalised patients with Enterobacterales bloodstream infections in Africa. Samples were collected in 2020-22 at hospitals in eight countries across Africa. Isolates were sequenced and genotyped for AMR and virulence by the Fleming Fund SeqAfrica project, a UK Aid funded initiative to strengthen AMR surveillance in Africa. This bioproject collects the whole genome sequence data for the isolates collected in Tanzania.
