CD22 is a well-established negative regulator of B cell immunity, yet its expression and function in T cells remain largely unexplored. During lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) persistence, CD22 was markedly upregulated in virus-specific T cells and shown to intrinsically suppress CD4? T cell effector function. To elucidate the underlying mechanisms, we performed single-cell RNA sequencing of splenocytes from LCMV-infected CD22 KO SMARTA Tg mice. This study aims to uncover how CD22 intrinsically regulates CD4? T cell responses during viral infection, thereby expanding our understanding of CD22 in T cell immunity.
