NRS-1301 | Oyster lease correspondence cards [Fisheries Branch]

This series consists of oyster lease correspondence cards arranged in lease number order. The cards were produced by the Fisheries and Oyster Beds Branch (later known as the Fisheries Branch) between 1915 and 1929.There is a card for each lease which records the name of the applicant for the lease and provides a précis of any correspondence regarding that lease. The cards contain the following information: Number; Name of the applicant; Prog. No. [progressive number]; Date; Precis; Notations. Alongside the applicant's name, the location, rent, period of the lease and foreshore area (in yards) is sometimes written.
