Characterisation of sediment resuspension events: microbial community dynamics during leaching experiments

Aquatic lake habitats are influenced by fluctuations in their environment such as dam maintenance, alternating between calm and dynamic hydraulic events. During the dynamic events, metals and minerals can leach from sediments to the water column, mediated by microbial activities. In this study we analyzed the changes in the diversity and community structure of microbial communities during leaching experiments using sediments from the Villerest damn lake (France).
